An impish child-faerie by Karen Morley.
Pip is now available through Fantastic Fantasies Gallery

Karen's work has been shown in many doll magazines. For a biography and to find out what articles, shows and magazines that Karen's work has been in, visit the Artist's Biography Page. There you will find references to particular magazines and articles that you can review in reference to the quality of Karen's work.

Pip sits 5" tall to the top of her head (6" to her wing-tips) and if she could stand she would be around 11" tall.

She is a full-body polymer clay sculpt with great care and detail applied to her chubby little fairy face. She has adorable dimples and a big smile! The natural color of the clay is left unpainted to show a life-like skin and only her eyes, eyebrows, fingernails and toenails are painted and are very detailed (I think the pics should show them well). Pip also has been "blushed" in just the right places.

Her wings are poseable, delicate-looking and thin, yet are strong and long-lasting. They are created from a translucent paper (no real butterflys were hurt in the creation of these wings!), and a flexible medium is applied to the paper to strengthen and protect the wing and it's colors. They are tear-resistant and have fine wire insets that make them easy to position. The wings have an irridescence applied to them that make them shimmer in light, just like real butterfly wings. Hair/wig is hand-made, hand-dyed mohair and two colors are blended to give her a light strawberry-blonde do. Her "clothing" is delicate, torn chiffon and vintage velvet leaves and flower trims. She wears a ribbon flower necklace with a crystal bead in the center. And the two little braids in her hair are entwined with soft, metallic fibers and decorated on the ends with glass beads.

This art piece is enhanced with quality acrylic Windsor-Newton paint and sealed with Golden's professional true matte finish to protect the painted areas from scratching, etc. Pip comes with:

1. Artist COA, signed & dated
2. Doll is signed and dated by artist.
