Consignment Form & Information for The Little Doll Auctions

www.littledoll.com

The Fee for consignment is generally 25%, which is taken from the sum total of your item’s sale.  In such a case as where the Auction Co. (The Little Doll/Karen Morley) feel that the items will bring a total value of $15,000 or more, the 25% fee may be negotiated.

For most collections/dolls/accessories the owner is responsible for shipping the collection to the Auction Home Base so that we have the items available to prepare them for beautiful auction pictures.  In some rare cases where needed, the auction staff will clean and prepare all of the dolls, place the proper pieces with their original outfits and generally, do our best to make sure that your items are properly prepared to bring the best value for you.

Any items that do not sell will be returned to the owner via shipping through the US Postal Service at the owner's expense, there is generally a buyer for most items of your item. Returned items are shipped COD.

We highly recommend that our Consignors do not place reserves(or a minimum bid) on any of their items. Although, you are free to do so if you have an exceptional item that needs reserve protection, but reserves tend to take the excitement of bidding away from the buyers, thus they might pay less than if you go with no reserve. But placing an item up with no reserve frees the bidder/buyer up to pay the most that they want to pay for an item and usually encourages the bidders to pay more than they would if the item had a reserve.

If you feel that you must place a reserve on any you must notify Karen Morley/The Little Doll by either email or regular postal mail, so that the items can be assessed by the Auction Co.   The reserve may need to be negotiated so that the reserve is not so high that it may stop the bidders/buyers from placing a bid, whereas no sales are made and that is detrimental to our cause. Both the Consignor, the Consignee and the bidders will suffer from the expense of an exorbitant reserve.  If we are unable to come to terms on a reasonable reserve and we feel that the buyer is asking a price that is far above a fair retail value then Karen Morley/The Little Doll reserves the right to refuse to sell such item.  If we do agree on a reserve price, we will start the bidding at the reserve price.  If the item does not sell at it's reserve price, we do not relist items for sale.  Our auctions are only two days and each item is listed only once and if the reserve item does not sell then a $20 fee per reserve item will be charged to cover time spent listing and packing- shipping the item or items back to you.  Items with no reserves are charged NO extra fees for return except shipping costs, if they do not sell but almost all items do sell  That is just one of the many reasons that we encourage no reserves.  With no reserves, your items will sell!  You will be happy and the bidders/buyers will be happy. Although, we cannot guarantee any specific price for items selling at auction. And we cannot give a blanket guarantee that any item will sell. Auctions are often fun and usually results in sales but no guarantees of sales can be made.  If you like, we can make an experienced/educated guess for you before you ship your items to us, but for that, we must see photos of everything that you intend to consign. If you are interested in knowing the pre-sale estimate please re-contact us.  We will not give estimates once the items have been shipped.  Estimates can only be made if we receive pictures of your items.  And we do not guarantee that any item will sell for the estimated value but we pride ourselves on being close in our estimates.

For collections that are very large and have a value over $15,000 or more, Karen Morley/The Little Doll and you need us to, we will personally arrange to pick up, carefully pack and transport your items to the auction site where they will be cared for and arranged for the online auction.  We reserve the right to decide which items are worth picking up (within the US and Canada) or which items can be shipped by the owner and we do charge extra fees for pick-up service depending upon the size of the collection and the location of said collection.

Karen Morley/The Little Doll cannot be held responsible for any damage or accidents that may befall any item during shipping.  We highly suggest that you insure your items to safeguard against shipping company’s negligence. Items that are shipped back to the original Consignor will be insured and shipped priority mail via US Postal Mail at the Consignor's expense.

We do not charge a buyer’s fee (as many auctions do) which frees the bidders/buyers up to spend more money on YOUR items and not paying fees to the auction house to buy! A "buyer's fee" is a fee that is tacked on to the cost of the sold item by the auction house and charged to the buyer of the Consignor's item. We do not believe in doing this to our customers. Our belief is that no one should have to pay to purchase something.

We run our auctions several times per year and the deadline for getting items into the June 28-29 2003 auction is June 14th.  Your items must arrive by that date! and items are sold in the order that we decide to place them.

You can generally expect a check for payment from The Little Doll for your items (minus our 25% commission and any fees for reserve items which did not sell) within 30-45 days after the sale of the last item from your collection or group. We do our best to get your payment to you as soon as possible but 4-5 weeks is generally the amount of time that it takes as we collect payments from bidders and wait for checks to clear.  We are not responsible for “deadbeat” or non-paying bidders.  If that should happen then your item will simply be returned to you in it’s original condition and if you like you can re-consign it with us for our next auction.

Once you place/ship your items to The Little Doll for Auction, we do all of the work and all you have to do is sit back, watch the auctions on the website and wait for your check in the mail.  We do all of the caring and sorting of the items, we will clean or do small repairs for a small fee if we feel that it will enhance the sale for you. We do all of the emailing and talking to the customers/bidders/buyers about condition, etc, and collecting payments and credit cards via paypal or our merchant account.  All fees are collected and taken care of by our auction staff.  You will also receive with your payment, a list of your items as sold at auction plus a report of the fees deducted from your auction sales and the final selling prices of your items.

When you decide that you are ready to consign your items, first contact Karen Morley to let the Auction Home Base know that you will be consigining your item/s. Then simply print this form out on your computer and hand –sign and date the form and send it with your items via your choice of shipping.  We will then, return a copy of this form signed by us and assign an auction ID number to your items so that you know which auctions are yours.  Or we can print two copies out, send them to you and have you sign and return both forms and then we will sign one form and return it back to you and then you can ship your items to us.  You may choose either option but we do not accept facsimiles of this form.  We only accept exact print outs of this specific form!

And after that, we just wait for the auction will begin!  And rest assured that we will advertise our/your auctions well online, so that many bidders will come to view and bid on your items! At this time, we have nearly 800 members who want to bid on your items!

Thank you for your confidence in The Little Doll and we hope to hear from you soon.
